Our Values-Based Corporate Philosophy
Our corporate philosophy rests on three pillars of
conscious action: the manufacture of high-quality, durable, and child-friendly
wooden toys; responsible business practices; and social engagement within the
community.
Guiding Principles for Our Products
For over 85 years, we have been crafting wooden
toys by hand in Germany—toys that convey to children an endearing image of the
world, its people, and its animals. We have always been deeply committed to
using wood from sustainable Central European forestry and to distributing and
selling top-quality toys through partnerships. Respect for people and nature
lies at the heart of everything we do.
Guiding Principles for Our Business Activities
Our company operates on a sound financial
foundation that prioritizes the needs of people and the environment rather than
profit maximization. We value a safe working environment and a positive social
atmosphere—one based on respect and genuine appreciation that embraces people
from all walks of life.
In this way, we aim to play our part in making business
practices more humane and equitable.
Guiding Principles of Our Social Commitment
We believe the business sector bears a central
responsibility for shaping social interaction in a new, healthier way, and we
have made it our mission to pursue innovative, sustainable paths in this area.
Since 2001, Ostheimer Wooden Toys has been owned by the Walter and Adeline
Ostheimer Foundation. Profits not immediately required to maintain the
company’s financial health are channeled back into society through the
Foundation, supporting initiatives and projects focused on social causes,
education, and mindful stewardship of nature.
