As the Ostheimer shepard, I move across the country with my sheep, year in, year out. My faithful herding dog is always by my side and my long shepherd's coat serves me well in summer and winter. It's wonderful to be out in nature with the animals and accompany them with vigilance and calm. We've seen a lot of places over the years and we can tell many stories about all our adventures...

For many years now, I have been at the side of the Ostheimer shepherd, tending his large flock of sheep with him. I have to take especially good care of the little lambs, so that they aren't separated from the other sheep when they jump across the meadows so cheerfully and impetuously.

I slowly walk across the sheep pasture, grazing peacefully and always looking for particularly flavorful grass. Although I have to say, we sheep don't ask for much and even graze on almost barren meadows. It's good to know that we Ostheimer sheep can graze in peace, because we are well protected by our shepherd and his dog, or by the shepherds from the nativity scene.
